Hi! I’m Liv, I am studying Spanish studies, psychology, and cognitive science.  I studied and volunteered abroad in Costa Rica during spring 2026.  During my time abroad I was able to gain more fluency in Spanish and get valuable experience volunteering in a children’s hospital.  I lived with a host family during my time abroad and had a wonderful, immersive experience.  During my free time I was able to travel around and experience all the culture and beautiful scenery the country has to offer.  This was one of the most transformative experiences I have had in my life and I’m so happy to help others on their education abroad journey.

Most memorable views during your travels.
Seeing macaws fly overhead while watching the sunset on the beach.

What makes you happy?
My friends and family, my dog, reading, being outdoors, and music.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

Listening to my morning playlist.

Best advice to a future study abroad student.
Keep an open mind.  If you are given an opportunity that you are interested in even just a little bit, take it.  Lean on others for support and know that your peers are in the same position as you. You will grow as a student, a global citizen, and a person during your time abroad because of these opportunities.

The next thing on your bucket list?
Iceland and Scandinavia!
